Netflix has finally wrapped up 13 Reasons Why with its fourth season. The series extensively focuses on the problems of contemporary youth. There are several issues with which the teen has to deal with, and they are considered as taboo in our society.
The series brilliantly touches upon these uncharted territories with at most sensitivity. This is something that has played a pivotal role in the success of 13 Reasons Why. There is a lot that has been showing in the series in four seasons.
The series has its fair share of controversy too, but this isn’t something which should be focussed upon instead the quality and message of the story is the center of attraction for the audience. The series completed its fourth and final season on 5th June 2020.
The series has done extraordinary in its journey, but the end of the final season somehow complicated the entire storyline. So now, we will focus on the last episode of 13 Reasons Why where things got complicated, and fans were unable to decipher the end of the final season.
The funeral conundrum
It is related to Justin when he was diagnosed with HIV, which he contracted in the first or second season. Till the second last episode, things were cloudy, and not much has been revealed. In the second last episode, it was shown that he was ailing in his final moments in the ICU. So this was quite disturbing, and the way he was dying a slow death was heartrending.
Jessica’s story amid Justin’s ailing health
In the last episode, one can notice that Jessica was mild in her speech, and she was talking in a relatively calm manner. She wasn’t diagnosed with HIV amid the fact that she was reunited with Justin. In her graduation speech, she wasn’t annoyed as she appeared in all the episodes. So this was something which indicates that post-high school life is going to change everyone for good.
Winston’s quest with the truth
Alex’s confession about Bryce’s murder has changed everyone’s perspective on Monty, who was wrongly alleged for killing Bryce. It happened after Justin’s funeral when Alex confessed to the wrongs which he has done in the entire course of his life. He was apologetic for wrongly framing Monty. This was a relieving moment for Winston, who was in the quest for knowing the details of Bryce’s murder.
The whereabouts of Clay
He is the worst affected among all as he was living a pathetic life seeing all his friends die one after another. He has lived a relatively isolated life, and at the end of the story, he was dealing with psychiatric issues. He has been mourning the death of his friends, and the psychiatric help is expected to help him get over this pain.
There are mixed reviews from the fans, and it is going to tough ascertaining the end of the series. Well, every dedicated fan should see the final season and then decide if it was the perfect ending or not?
